Persistent browser game guide

How do persistent browser games work?

Persistent browser games combine a permanently saved account with repeatable actions, timed systems and interaction between players. The website is the game client, while a server stores and updates the shared world.

Accounts and saved progress

Every important action is recorded: statistics, money, inventory, property, education, group membership and rankings. Closing the browser does not remove progress.

Timed resources

Energy, nerve, awake or similar resources may recover over time. This limits repetitive actions, creates pacing and makes planning more important than clicking continuously.

Player-driven systems

Markets, gangs, attacks, bounties and rankings create interaction. The value of an item or tactic can change because other people change their behaviour.

Long-term progression

Early actions build toward larger opportunities. Better statistics, equipment, property and social connections gradually unlock more profitable or competitive play.

Frequently asked questions

Can I lose progress while offline?

Normally your saved character remains intact, although other players may still interact with shared systems depending on the game rules.

Why do these games use timers?

Timers create pacing, prevent unlimited grinding and reward returning strategically.
